Stubby Steve

We make a biodegradable artificial fish food lure. We make an exact replica of a fish food pellet. It is the same size, shape, color and odor.......(and it's not just for stocked fish!)
Why? Because each year billions of fish are stocked in millions of ponds and public waterways in the United States alone. The vast majority of these fish are raised on fish food pellets. They never lose their desire for this treat. So here at Stubby Steve's, we have created a lure to satisfy their craving. It is also safe for our environment. However, in our testing, we are continuously surprised at the variety of fish that loves our lure which have never eaten fish food before! It has to be the odor! It was originally developed and tested to be used alone and it works wonderfully. But we have also had great success hooking it on our favorite lures. It adds an attractive, long lasting odor.
It would have been easy to make an environmentally unfriendly plastic lure that looks like fish food and it would have worked. To make a lure that satisfied our goals took years.
Our goals and accomplishments:
     • It smells more like fish food than an actual piece of fish food
     • It's the same size, shape and color as a fish food pellet
     • Stays on the hook extremely well, even on a fly rod
     • Is biodegradable and eco-friendly
     • Floats- since the vast majority of fish food sold is floating type
     • We've caught many fish with the same piece of Stubby Steve's
